The End

I brewed morning coffee and held the cup it didn't feel right something hairy was on the side my hand touched it I let go jumped back and said "Eeeee" my boyfriend asked what was wrong and I swivelled the mug around to show him there was something resembling a snake head stuck to the side of the cup right next to the cup handle its neck was severed cleanly, I used a teaspoon to flick the head unstuck it was hard to get off and as I flicked it into the sink the skin separated from the flesh inside, the flesh slid down the plug hole, my boyfriend held my shoulder and I looked at him because he was pulling me aside, his eyes on the ground, I followed his line of sight and saw a meter-long body of an eel on the kitchen step, "They must shed their skin and body and then it re-grows," he said I wasn't convinced I had a sense it wanted to re-grow using my poor body.

Something didn't feel right then there was an explosion far away but we could see it from our house our kitchen window a large chunk of our world was missing a large message appeared on the land, black and white 2D like an overlay of text a graphical layer it didn't make any sense all I could read was DONKEY but I'm not even sure if it said that maybe it was DONNY or DONE the letters were so big and we were on the ground it was hard to read them.

We drove to the devastated area there were quiet fields of countryside, sheep, then for a few hundred meters, air instead of land, you could see right through to the other side, sky, but when we drove closer, the situation had changed there was another land floating underneath ours I could see an apartment building and some people out on their balconies looking up at us they spoke in speech bubbles 2D black and white speech bubbles instead of words, "Hi," I thought, scared, and a speech bubble black and white 2D appeared near my mouth it said "Hi."
